Mutual Fund

A mutual fund is a company that uses money from multiple investors to buy stocks, bonds, or other securities building a portfolio. These investment portfolios are usually managed by investment advisors. A mutual fund is typically considered a safer and lower yield type of investing. Very little stock market knowledge is necessary to invest in mutual funds as you are allowing "experts" to invest your money for you.

Many people that you know who "invest" in the stock market may only have money in mutual funds. The basic idea behind investing in a mutual fund is, "They know what they're doing in the stock market, so I'll let them use my money to invest." The losses that nearly every mutual fund suffered in late 2008 proves that mutual funds may not be safe after all. After understanding the information available here, you will have the knowledge to make smart trades for higher gains than any mutual fund while protecting yourself from a crash.
